Margaret Dolan & The Family of Bob Dolan

In the early sixties my husband, Robert Lloyd (Bob) Dolan, was a member of the U.S. Peace Corps Group Pak 12 and placed in Bawhalnagar, Pakistan. He had graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) with a B.S. in Engineering. He worked on projects within the district and in Bawhalnagar. He cherished his time in Pakistan and the many people he met there. He developed an affection for the culture and religion of the region that followed him throughout his life.

This blanket was given to him by his grandmother, Olga Trolson Richmond, a native of Aalborg, Denmark. Bob used it for camping in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California. Later he used it as a table cover when he played card games with his friends and family.

Bob died on June 28, 2013 and I know that he would truly appreciate that this blanket would find it’s way to Pakistan which was such a significant and treasured part of his life.

Thank you for this opportunity to honor Bob and his contribution to Pakistan, although I think he would feel that he benefited more than what he gave your country.
