This is from my father, Robert Stuart Turner. He was born in 1912, and while he was growing up cars did not have good heaters. In the winter people wore coats in their cars and put blankets on their laps. So this blanket is smaller than a bed blanket, and has no fancy pattern or fringe, since no one really looked at car blankets.
