Blanket Stories: Transportation Object, Generous Ones, Trek

A sculpture commissioned for the Haub Family Galleries at the Tacoma Art Museum

I moved to Washington in 2001, two months before 9/11. I was surprised at how quickly I formed friendships here and fell in love with the Northwest. One of my first friends here made this blanket for me for Christmas, knowing my love of Winnie-the-Pooh. It has since gone with me on camping trips in the cascades, bonfire nights at Golden Gardens, outdoor movies in the summer, picnics at Wright Park, and barbecues with friends. It is all the things I love about living here, this place I choose to call home.
