Generations, Homemade, Selected stories, Tacoma stories

This quilt is donated by a family who had four generations who lived in Old Town, Tacoma. They lived in three different houses on 27th St., 28th St. and 26th St. just off of McCarver.

We are not sure who made this quilt which is hand-quilted, but the fabrics appear to be from the 1930s and/or 1940s.

They homesteaded at Fort Richmond (Gig Harbor) and I remember sleeping under quilts as a very young girl in the “big house” at the beach.
