This is a 100% wool woven printmaking blanket called a pusher blanket. It was used in a university printmaking studio for student printing. This blanket came to its useful end when a student was printing while talking on a cell phone and not thinking through because of distraction. So she put something through the press that shouldn’t ever go through. The result cut through the blankets leaving a gash that affects the quality of future printing with this blanket. Moral: Don’t talk on a cell phone while printing.
