Blanket Stories: Transportation Object, Generous Ones, Trek

A sculpture commissioned for the Haub Family Galleries at the Tacoma Art Museum

I moved to the Northwest, to Tacoma and needed a warm blanket. I found a bolt of wool at the fabric store and sewed the edges to finish it into a blanket -

I am very bad at sewing and it isn’t very attractive, but it kept me warm for years.

And like most blankets it retains fuzz from the life lived around it, hairs from dogs long past, feathers from adjacent comforters, baby spit, and years of dreams.
