Blanket Stories: Transportation Object, Generous Ones, Trek

A sculpture commissioned for the Haub Family Galleries at the Tacoma Art Museum

This mohair shawl comes from our daughter Liene’s namesake in London. The original Liene helped our Liene’s grandmother when she fled Latvia in 1944 during Russia’s invasion of WWII. The original Liene was a strong, funny, loyal woman, never able to have children, and a meaning-filled namesake for our Liene.
