Blanket Stories: Transportation Object, Generous Ones, Trek

A sculpture commissioned for the Haub Family Galleries at the Tacoma Art Museum

During a transition period in my life, between schools and living situations, I returned to my family’s house to live for a few months. Coincidentally, it was during this time that my beloved grandmother fell ill and moved into the same house. Although she was dying of cancer, she would always want to be with everyone—at the casino, sipping whiskey out in the garden, or taking a walk through the park. At all of these times, there was always one thing with her that she needed to keep comfortable—this blanket.
