Hudson bay blanket

This blanket represents the famous Hudson Bay blanket—now an iconic symbol of the Hudson Bay Company. The company had many trading posts in Canada and the US in the 18th and 19th century—many in Pierce County. The blankets were typically traded for beaver pelts. The blankets are still sold by the Hudson Bay store.
