In memoriam, Marriage, Mothers

There was the time my mother showed up with her white wool blanket. She told me she thought it would be best for her to sleep under white wool. That blanket went with me through my first marriage and the next. In its clear, plastic zippered case it stood ready for her next visit. Within California, it moved with me from Berkeley, to Oakland, to Foster City and then on to Grand Prairie, TX, and now here on Hood Canal.

My mother died in December 2008. Offering her blanket for this art project will give the blanket a final resting place.

Truly, rest in peace, Josephine.
