This blanket was made by my great grandmother. She originally came to the US at the age of 12 with her younger brother. They were orphans from Germany and they journeyed west to reunite with their older sister who married an American as a teenager. My great grandmother settled in Idaho and later in Eastern Washington. She made quilts for family and charities.
