This blanket is a proxy for my son’s baby blanket – the “dark corner” blanket. He rubbed the satin border ribbon for hours – sometimes even clutched in sleep. The same corner every time until it was worn and “dark.” It was on his bed and then in his room well into high school. Whenever he reached for the blanket he would turn it until the “dark corner” was between his fingers. None of us remember where it went!
